Life Lessons from OG

First off, this is a takeoff from ashes_and_wings's idea from a few days ago in her post. So I will dedicate my first post to her, since she inspired me to fill my journal in a bit here.

Rollerblading

1. Skates don't like twigs or stones. If you attempt to ride over one, you will also discover you don't like twigs or stones either.

2. Look where you're going (or you might come across previously mentioned twig or stone.)

3. Be careful on woodplanked bridges. Fortunately, the wheels on the skates are slightly more fond of those over the objects in lessons 1 & 2.

4. Carry your keys in a pocket, not in your hands. You never know, you could get into a situation where you're on a woodplank bridge, lose your balance, throw your hands onto the railing, accidentally tossing those precious keys over the edge into the marshy weeds below.

5. If you arrived to the roller blading area by car, pack an extra pair of socks. Just in case you had to wade through a marsh and dig for your keys.

6. If you're not confident using your brake, avoid large hills, especially ones with a STOP sign at the bottom.

7. If you're going too fast and can't stop, veer off into the grass, or better yet, go over a twig.

8. Wear a helmet and wrist guards...

I went roller blading the other night, and, no, I never threw my keys over the rail, but I came pretty damn close. It reminded me of the movie "Stand By Me" where the boys came out of the water covered in leeches! But despite it all, I will still continue to go.

9. Never click on a 'help' icon before posting your entry, or it will not be there when you click on the 'back' button... grrrrrrr.
